Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Overview:

A New Leaf ABA, LLC, is looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join its growing team!

We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients to teach them meaningful communication, social, play, self-regulation, self-advocacy, daily living, and community skills and coaching to families to assist them with navigating their loved ones’ diagnoses. The BCBA position at A New Leaf ABA, LLC, involves the development and oversight of ABA programming in the home and community environments. BCBAs provide supervision and support to Behavior Technicians (BTs) and coaching to caregivers to assist them with carrying over ABA strategies into their daily family lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee initial program set-up (includes completion of initial assessment and student’s assessment-based goals and objectives)

  • Design and monitor individualized skill acquisition and behavior support plans for clients 

  • Manage data collection and analysis (includes the set up and oversight of data collections methods, taking inter-observer agreement data and procedural integrity data to ensure that data collection is accurate, analyzing data to make informed clinical decisions, and ensuring that data are collected throughout the baseline, intervention, and maintenance phases of treatment)

  • Ensure high-quality ongoing behavior analytic services (includes oversight of clients’ progression through skill acquisition programs, oversight of implementation of behavior plans and skill acquisition programs, submission of reauthorizations for each client on a timely basis, and the development of progress reports for each student)

  • Manage challenging and interfering behaviors (includes conducting functional assessments of problem behaviors, oversight of data collection for such assessments, writing operational definitions of any interfering behaviors that clients display during sessions, and providing recommendations to respond to challenging behaviors in a manner that will replace the challenging behavior with an appropriate functionally equivalent alternative)

  • Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment

  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other specialists to ensure treatment overlap and consistency

  • Ensure that token boards, visual prompts, and other materials are created as needed

  • Provide coaching to families and caregivers using Behavioral Skills Training (BST) 

  • Train and supervise Behavior Technicians using BST

  • Train Behavior Technicians to run skill acquisition programs, follow guidelines of clients’ behavior support plans as written, collect data, graph data, and uphold company policies

  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and confidential documentation in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for all medical and treatment records and services rendered

  • Complete formal and informal continuing education activities to remain up to date on the latest ABA research and standards for best practice

Skills:

  • Fluency in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis for high quality client care

  • Excellent attention to detail for oversight of all aspects of ABA programming

  • Strong analytical skills for overseeing data collection systems, interpreting data, and providing data-based clinical recommendations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and professional skills to facilitate collaboration with families, specialists, team members, and stakeholders and maintain medical records

  • Strong organizational skills for managing client caseload, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the coordination of all moving parts of service delivery

  • Familiarity with all laws and regulations pertaining to behavioral interventions and the requirements set forth in the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)’s Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts 

  • The ability to approach all interactions with clients, families, team members, and stakeholders with professionalism, empathy, compassion, patience, and care

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree and/or graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis 

  • BCBA certification

  • LABA or state-specific license to provide Applied Behavior Analysis services

  • Smartphone or similar device

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass a background check
